I'm a licensed clinical psychologist (PY60929332) in Washington state and I also hold an APIT license (Mobility# 22933) which allows me to provide telehealth therapy to clients in 43 states.
My passion for understanding and treating disordered eating began during my own college years when I moved far from home for the first time. I experienced firsthand how deeply intertwined food is with culture, family, and emotions--and how complex that relationship can become. This personal insight has shaped my empathetic, non-judgmental approach to working with clients navigating their own struggles with food and body image.
I've worked across diverse settings, including hospital-based outpatient clinics, community clinics, and research centers specializing in disordered eating and chronic conditions. My experience extends to leading and co-leading research studies which have been published in peer-reviewed journals. I've also provided training and supervision to psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows. This combination of clinical work, research, and teaching keeps me grounded in evidence-based practices while remaining responsive to each person's unique needs.
Outside of the office, I enjoy hiking, baking and watching baking shows, and spending time with my family.
Fun fact: How do I say your name? I get asked this a lot. My last name is pronounced "ing" as if there's the letter "i" in front of it. But you can always just call me Dr. Janet.
